Fellowship of Christian Athletes

What Is FCA Equestrian?

FCA — the Fellowship of Christian Athletes — is one of the largest faith-based sports ministries in the world. Their mission is simple: to see the world impacted for Jesus Christ through the influence of coaches and athletes.

FCA Equestrian brings that same mission into the barn. It's a sports-specific ministry designed for riders and horse lovers — a space where young people can connect their passion for horses with a deeper walk with God. At Horses and Hope, we host a monthly FCA Equestrian Huddle right here at the barn.

New to FCA? You don't need to know anything about the organization to come. The huddle is open to any middle or high school girl who wants to hang out, dig into the Word, eat some snacks, and spend time with people who love Jesus. No sign-up required — just show up.

The Huddle Experience

What Happens at a Huddle?

Every huddle is different, but a few things are always the same: community, God's Word, horses, and prayer. Here's what a typical gathering looks like.

Fellowship & Community

Every huddle starts with time to connect. Students from different schools and backgrounds come together around a shared love of horses and faith. It's a safe, welcoming space where you don't have to have it all together.

God's Word

The heart of every huddle is Scripture. We explore what the Bible says about character, courage, and how our relationship with horses mirrors our relationship with God — trust, patience, and learning to hear His voice.

Snacks & Fellowship

Good food and good company go hand in hand. Every huddle includes snacks and unstructured time to connect — because community is built in the in-between moments just as much as in the Bible study itself.

Prayer Together

We close every huddle in prayer — for each other, for our families, and for the week ahead. Students are encouraged to share what's on their heart. Nobody is pressured; every prayer is welcome.

Who Should Come

Middle & High School Girls Only

The FCA Equestrian Huddle is designed for middle and high school girls — the exact age where life gets complicated and community matters most. You don't have to be a rider. You don't have to be a Christian. You just have to be willing to show up.

Whether your daughter is deeply rooted in faith or just curious about what it all means, the huddle meets her where she is. Every girl is seen, valued, and welcome.

Middle School

Grades 6 – 8

A great introduction to faith community during some of the most formative years. Girls grow in confidence and character alongside peers who share their values.

High School

Grades 9 – 12

High school girls find community, accountability, and a place to wrestle with real questions of faith. The barn is a built-in reminder that God's creation points to something bigger.

No Experience Needed

First-Timers Welcome

Never attended an FCA event? Never been part of a Bible study? Neither had most of the girls here. Everyone starts somewhere — come as you are.

When We Meet

Our Why

Faith Is the Foundation

The FCA Equestrian Huddle isn't something we added onto the barn — it's an extension of who we already are. Horses and Hope was built on the belief that horses are one of God's most powerful tools for drawing people closer to Him. The huddle is where that belief becomes community.

"Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding;
in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight."

— Proverbs 3:5–6

Horses teach this lesson in a way nothing else can. They ask for your complete trust. They respond to gentleness, not force. They sense your fear — and your faith. When students learn to ride, they're also learning to surrender, to be patient, and to show up with a quiet and steady heart. That's not just horsemanship. That's discipleship.
